Connecticut Stone in Milford, CT, a leader in the stone supply industry for 74 years, is looking for a full-time Outdoor Stone Sales Associate to join our showroom team. Role Overview: The Outdoor Stone Sales Associate will guide customers through the selection process of stone products for the exterior of their homes. Primarily focusing on bluestone, Nicolock pavers, ThinStone, wallstone and cobblestones for landscaping, patios, pool decks, walkways, gardens and retaining walls, this role requires a passion for delivering excellent customer service. The position is full-time, 38 – 46 hours a week, including Saturday mornings. Responsibilities include:
  • Facilitate sales for walk-in customers, including homeowners, landscapers, masons, and builders, ensuring friendly and quality customer service.
  • Match customers with products that align with their style preferences and budget.
  • Assist in assessing project requirements and determining quantity of materials needed.
  • Manage customer expectations by providing accurate information on products, lead time and pricing.
  • Provide excellent customer service, including assistance with purchases, generating accurate quotations, and offering detailed product information.
  • Processes customer sales transactions and coordinate delivery logistics.
  • Conduct physical stock checks, as necessary.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with customers and colleagues at all times.
Requirements:
  • Previous sales or customer service experience is required, with a preference for at least 2 years of experience in the building products industry.
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to professionalism.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • Basic math skills are essential for performing quantity calculations and sales transactions.
  • Proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, and Gmail, along with experience in payment processing systems is preferred.
  • Proficiency in English is required; bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

Role Overview: The Estimator/Project Manager plays a pivotal role in analyzing blueprints and other documents to prepare accurate material and labor estimates for clients, as well as managing project scopes and bid deadlines. This full-time position, offering remote work flexibility, requires meticulous attention to detail, exceptional communication skills and a dedication to delivering excellent customer service. Responsibilities:
  • Analyze blueprints, finish schedules, and other relevant documents to generate precise material and labor estimates for clients.
  • Ensure exceptional quality customer service by providing timely and accurate estimates, meeting deadlines, and maintaining clear communication with clients throughout the bidding process.
  • Liaise with clients to ensure a thorough understanding of project scope and requirements, and consistently communicate project updates and changes.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, including production and fabrication teams, to ensure alignment with project specifications and monitor project completion and costs.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in estimating, with proficiency in working with architectural drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Planning and project management skills.
  • General knowledge of millwork and construction processes.
  • Proficiency in mathematical calculations, including area, circumference, perimeter, and basic geometry.
  • Experience using CADD and Estimating Software, with proficiency in Bluebeam Revu preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Google Docs, Sheets, and Mail

Connecticut Stone offers a wide array of materials for both indoor and outdoor applications. This role will focus on guiding customers through selections for countertops and vanities as well as marble, granite, limestone and ceramic and porcelain tile for floors and walls. With our diverse selection, we cater to every design style and budget. The Interior Design Sales Associate works with the client and their project teams, which may include architects, designers, builders, and contractors to curate a selection that fulfills the client’s vision within budget. The associate continues to work with the client through project completion. The Ideal Candidate:
