Connecticut Stone in Milford, CT, a leader in the stone supply industry for 75 years, is looking for a full-time Sales Representative to join the Showroom Team. The Showroom Sales Representative will guide customers in their selection of all things stone, for the exterior and interior of the home. While concentrating mostly on bluestone, Nicolock Pavers, building stone veneers and cobblestone for landscaping, patios, pool decks, walkways, gardens and retaining walls, as well as natural stone and tile products for interior spaces. Guiding the customers through selections for countertops and vanities as well as marble, granite, limestone and ceramic and porcelain tiles for floors and walls. The position is full-time, including Saturday mornings. Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Expedite sales for all walk-in customers including homeowners, landscapes, masons, and builders ensuring an efficient flow of service.
  • Match customers with products that fit style and budget.
  • Display creativity in blending materials to realize the client’s vision
  • Assist in determining the quantity needed for the project.
  • Manage customer expectations by providing accurate information on products, lead time and cost.
  • Provide quality customer service to customers and potential clients including assistance with purchases, accurate quotations and pricing and providing relevant product information.
  • Process customer sales and sets up deliveries.
  • Perform physical stock checks as required.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with customers and colleagues.
Education and/or Knowledge/Experience includes:
  • Prior sales experience required.
  • 2 years of previous industry experience is preferred - building products related.
  • Excellent communication skills and high standard of professionalism
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
  • Basic math skills are required.
  • Experience in Google docs, sheets and Gmail, payment processing systems preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish beneficial

The Installer is responsible for the installation of natural stone, porcelain, and quartz. Duties and responsibilities include:
  1. Complete installation projects.
  2. Execute project assignment from start to finish, ensuring the final project meets expectations.
  3. Provide direction and supervision for Helpers and Senior Helpers to ensure the project is completed safely.
  4. Manage and lift materials, hanging sinks, color epoxy seams and applying sealers and equipment allocation to team assigned for project. Ensure tools and supplies are fully operational, clean, and utilized in the manner they are permitted for.
  5. Proper communication and presentation installers will be in homes, job sites, in front of clients and other trades
  6. Maintain overall awareness of job status and requirements. Provide regular consistent communication with the Supervisor throughout the project and immediately relays any out-of-scope changes or problems, concerns, or discrepancies to management.
  7. Submit installation report by the next workday, including inventory sheet and photographs of the completed job.
  8. Enforce and promote safety standards, including lifting and handling techniques, personal protective equipment and general housekeeping.
  9. Conduct field measurement and templating where required. Provide basic drawings for the fabrication team as needed.
  10. Perform field cut outs outside wherever possible. When inside ensure use drop cloth and vacuum to minimize dust and debris.
  11. Ensure jobsite is thoroughly cleaned and inspected, both inside and outside, prior to leaving.
  12. Work flexible hours, including overtime, and able to travel to job sites throughout the state and surrounding counties
Education and/or Knowledge/Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools: Wet Saw, Grinder and Polisher
  • Basic carpentry and tiling skills.
  • Knowledge of natural stone products (marble, quartzite, quartz etc.)
  • Knowledge and proficient use of installation materials including thin set, epoxy, and sealers.
  • Knowledge of plumbing fixtures and how they integrate with materials.
  • Ability to bend and twist while holding weight.
  • Knowledge safety procedures
  • Knowledge of good loading practices and procedures

Connecticut Stone offers excellent career opportunities at all skill levels. The Fabricator is responsible for cutting, shaping, and finishing several types of stone materials used for countertops, fireplace facings, tub decks and other stone products. This position requires skilled craftsmanship and attention to detail, ensuring that the products meet both customer and industry standards. Duties and responsibilities include:
  1. Stone cutting and shaping: Operate specialized tools such as saws, grinders, and polishers to shape stone slabs (granite, marble, quartz, etc.) according to precise measurements and customer requirements.
  2. Polishing and Finishing: Finish stone edges by sanding, polishing, and buffing to achieve a smooth, high-quality finish.
  3. Read shop drawing: Interpret and follow shop drawings to understand project specifications, including dimensions, design details and finishing requirements.
  4. Tool Maintenance: Regularly maintain and care for fabrication tools and machines, ensuring they are in proper working condition.
  5. Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and industry regulations while operating machinery and handling raw materials to maintain a safe working environment.
  6. Quality Control: Inspect each piece of stone for defects, cracks or imperfections and ensure that all products meet quality standards before they are delivered or installed.
  7. Problem Solving: Troubleshoot issues related to material defects or design challenges offering solutions to meet project goals.
  8. Good eye for epoxy fill, color matching, repairing, and restoring natural stone.
  9. The ability to assemble miters, create trough sinks, etc. is a plus.
Education and/or Knowledge/Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalents, technical or vocational training in stone fabrication is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a stone fabricator or similar roles, with a strong knowledge of stone material and fabrication techniques.
  • Familiarity with various stone types (granite, marble, quartz, etc.) and their specific fabrication requirements.
  • Proficient in operating stone fabrication machinery such as saws, polishers, and grinders.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail, craftsmanship and an eye for design accuracy.
  • Ability to work with precision.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy stone materials.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and procedures in the fabrication industry
