Showroom wins 2012 Home Builders and Remodelers Association HOBI award April 1, 2012 In 2011, Connecticut Stone had the opportunity to expand its market and open its second showroom at The Galleria Design Center located at 234 Middle Street in Middletown CT. This gave Vice President of National Interior Sales, Tyra Dellacroce, and her design team a chance to create an “Inspirational” showroom where customers can mill around and shop in a natural setting. The design team spent many hours conceptualizing, designing, and selecting stone, in an effort to create a unique and artistic showroom. The space which is just under 5000SF has a full size house within the display which entertains different environments mimicking a natural home setting. The home includes but is not limited to, three different style interior fireplaces ranging from modern to contemporary, a kitchen with a pizza oven and a bathroom with a grotto like shower stall. There are also several wine cellars ranging from small to large to help show that there is no job too small for natural stone application. As you exit the model home (still indoors) there is an outdoor environment that will tantalize the senses. A 25ft mural of the Litchfield County countryside gives the illusion that you’ve stepped right out to a country farm. The mural has a beautiful stone wall which transitions out of the photo and onto a real life bluestone and limestone patio. It also features a larger than life self supporting fieldstone arch, a stone shed, limestone cladding and window surrounds. A number of unique applications can be seen throughout including fireplaces, fire pits, flagging and cobblestones. It also houses a beautiful stone and wood pergola which covers the outdoor kitchen and BBQ.With over 40 different Thinstone displays and multiple flagging installations you are bound to come away feeling inspired for your next project. Connecticut Stone opened its doors to the public in April of 2012.
