Inventory Manager

We are seeking an Inventory Manager to count our rocks!  The Inventory Manager will supervise a team of two and collaborate closely with our production and sales teams to ensure our inventory is accurate. The position involves counting, monitoring, evaluating, researching, supervising and supporting.

The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develops, establishes, maintains and follows up on inventory control procedures, including a cycle count schedule based on calendar year, to ensure accuracy of materials reported.
  • Monitors and inspects levels of supplies and raw materials to identify shortages. Double checks randomly for accuracy.
  • Place orders to replenish stock ensure no insufficiencies or excessive overstock. Analyze data to anticipate future needs.
  • Collaborates with the production and sales teams to ensure inventory adjustments are completed accurately for work in progress, material used in house, or damaged goods.
  • Oversees accurate and consistent labelling of products when received, upon completion of production and when in inventory.
  • Oversees the accurate receiving of shipments and materials to Connecticut Stone including paperwork, data entry, delivery logs, spread sheets. Completes double checks and corrects any errors found.
  • Completes and processes purchase orders for special orders and accurately processes manufacturing allocations as required.
  • Ensures accounting software is accurately maintained to communicate and update all departments regarding tracking of orders and costs.
  • Provides leadership and support to the inventory team as needed. Including setting work schedules and monitoring timecard and overtime, providing direction, setting expectations and monitoring performance.

The skills and experience required include:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A. / B. S.) from four-year college or university.
  • Knowledge and experience in inventory management or similar position required.
  • Knowledge and experience of data analysis, forecasting methods and working knowledge of inventory management software is required.
  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment with experience of raw materials is preferred.

  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office, Excel.
