We are currently seeking a full time Accounts Payable Clerk to join the team in Milford, CT.  This hourly paid position will work Monday through Friday, an average of 40 hours per week.

The ideal candidate:

  • At least two years of experience in Accounts Payable.
  • Experience in manufacturing or construction industry preferred.
  • Experience working with Quickbooks is preferred.
  • Experience of Excel and Microsoft Office is required.
  • Self-motivated with a desire to continuously develop.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
  • Good communication and math skills.
  • Flexible approach and willing to support other team members as needed.
  • Professional demeanor.

The job responsibilities:

The Accounts Payable Clerk is predominately responsible for all accounts payable activities to include preparation, review, and maintenance of records by performing the following duties, which include, but are not limited to:

  • Matches purchase orders with vendor/supplier invoices to ensure accuracy.
  • Resolves quantity or price discrepancies with Purchasing or Inventory Manager.
  • Daily entry of invoices payable.
  • Compile and match credit card receipts for company purchases. Make journal entries to record expenses on monthly statements.
  • Conduct 2-5 weekly check runs.
  • Run Accounts Payable reports for departmental distribution.
  • Perform Month End A/P preparation for close.
  • Promptly researches and resolves all accounts payable inquiries or discrepancies internally and with outside parties.
  • Maintains A/P files. Updates vendor/supplier data in our database.
  • Provides back-up assistance to Receptionist.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
