If we're assisting with designing a bathroom for a new build, we will first recommend that you share any architectural plans with us. This will help us get a better feel for the space, dimensions, and other important technical details that may influence your design. If you've made any selections for the room with your builder (such as choices regarding millwork or plumbing), we also ask that you share these with us. The more information we have up front, the better!
Meanwhile, if you're inspired by an existing bathroom design (or a series of bathroom designs you've seen on sites like Pinterest or Houzz), please feel free to share inspiration photos and any other details with our design team. This recommendation applies whether you'll be renovating or taking on a new build.
If Connecticut Stone assists you with a bathroom renovation, we will also ask you to provide as many photos of your existing space as possible. This includes photos from various angles, which will help us get a better feel for the room. If possible, we would also like for you to share any existing floor plans and rough room dimensions with us.
Next, we will recommend meeting with one of our experienced and talented designers to discuss your goals, budget, and other details of your project. For your convenience, these consultations are available both via Zoom and in-person, so you can select the option that you're most comfortable with.
After your design consultation, we'll be able to provide you with an estimate for the materials that will be needed for your bathroom renovation or new build. We will not proceed with ordering materials or taking further steps with your project until we receive confirmation from you that you would like to move forward - and our team is always here to answer questions or address any concerns you may have along the way.
Upon your confirmation, we will order your materials. Once everything has arrived, we can arrange freight directly to your job site; we ship materials, including tile, all over the United States and even abroad, so you can rest assured that yours will be in good hands. In fact, many of our clients enjoy this process so much that we often do multiple residences and frequently ship to areas like the Caribbean, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, and even Hawaii!
Once all your materials are in, you will likely have several professionals with which you need to schedule installation appointments before we can come in and finish up with your countertops, tub decks, and other components.
Typically, tile installation is the first step that needs to be tackled. However, even after most of your bathroom tiling is installed, there may be miscellaneous pieces that need to be custom cut to fit around spaces like door thresholds, shelves, shower/tub jambs, and other areas. Your installer will prepare a list of sizes/dimensions for these pieces; please be sure to also provide them to us, as these measurements will be needed for fabrication.
From there, millwork/cabinetry is usually the next step. Once this is done, we will come to your home and make a template for your bathroom vanity countertop or tub deck. A few weeks later, our team will return to install these items. Once your plumber hooks up your bathroom sinks and tub/shower, all that will be left for you to do is to enjoy your beautiful new bathroom!
